SmartCart Meals ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the SmartCart Meals website and apps (the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

• Account information. Name, email address, and password (hashed) when you create an account.
• Profile information. Household size, dietary preferences, weekly budget, ZIP code, and optional phone number.
• Usage data. Meal plans you create, shopping lists you generate, store preferences, and feature interactions.
• Payment information. Processed by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers.
• Marketing emails. Email addresses you submit to download our free guide or join the mobile waitlist.
• Technical data. IP address, browser type, device information, and standard log data.

2. How we use information

• To create your meal plans, shopping lists, and price comparisons.
• To send transactional emails (account, billing, shopping reminders).
• To send marketing emails only if you opted in. Unsubscribe in any email.
• To improve the product, debug issues, and prevent abuse.
• To comply with legal obligations.

3. Sharing

We don't sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us run the Service (e.g., hosting, payment processing, email delivery, analytics) under contracts that require them to protect your data.

4. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure usage. We may use analytics services such as Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or Microsoft Clarity to understand how the Service is used. We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time; we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., tax records).

We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit (TLS) and encryption at rest. No system is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your information.

8. Children

The Service is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice and update the "Last updated" date above.
